John Forgách, Chairman –
A private entrepreneur, banker and dedicated environmentalist, John Forgách leads Equator’s strategic planning and international project development. Founder and CEO of A2R Fund Management LLC, founding partner of Banco Axial S.A., São Paulo, Brasil, Forgach Chaired and helped establish the first for-profit biodiversity investment fund in Latin America. He has recieved several environmental awards for his innovative approach to Environmental Banking, including the 2001 Rainforest Alliance Green Globe Award and the 2000 BRAVO Business Award. He is a member of a number of boards including the President’s Advisory Board of Earth University, Costa Rica, the Board of Directors of Canada’s International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), and the Board of Trustees of Costa Rica’s Foundation for the Conservation of the Cordillera Central (FUNDECOR). John has also founded Swiss and Brazilian NGOs for education and the preservation of endangered South American wildlife. A former Vice President of Chase Manhattan Bank in Paris, Madrid and New York, and a former McCluskey fellow of the Yale University Graduate School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, he received his B.A. from Harvard University.

Gerrity Lansing, President and Chief Executive Officer –
Gerrity is one of the Founders of Equator, LLC. A successful entrepreneur and experienced investor, Gerrity oversees the company's Timber and Environmental Markets businesses, and also leads company-wide strategic planning and development. In addition to his role at Equator, Gerrity was the Founder of Madison Trading, LLC, as well as Chatham Energy Partners, LLC (acquired by The Intercontinental Exchange, NYSE ticker "ICE"). He is on the Board of the First Presbyterian Church Nursery School in New York City, and La Fundación de la Universidad del Valle de Guatemala. Gerrity received his B.A. from Duke University.


Mark Wishnie, Managing Director –
A forester with eight years of Latin American project management experience, Mark oversees the development and management of Equator's timberland businesses, including technical review and due diligence of investment opportunities and coordination of Equator's timberland acquisition and management services. Mark previously served as Program Director of the Yale Tropical Resources Institute, as Director of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute's Native Species Reforestation Project, and as a silviculture and restoration consultant to forestry companies, universities, government agencies, and NGOs in Latin and North America. Mark is a Senior Fellow of the Environmental Leadership Program and holds a B.S. in Forestry from the University of Washington and a Master of Forest Science degree from Yale University.

Eron Bloomgarden, President, Environmental Markets (EEM) –
Eron is President of Equator Environmental Markets with responsibility for carbon and environmental assets throughout the organization. A pioneer in the development of carbon markets, Eron has advised governments, multilateral institutions, and international corporations on many aspects of the emerging market. Eron has extensive experience in the areas of carbon finance and emissions reduction project development and has worked on several carbon market “firsts” including the first Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project in the world to receive carbon credits and the first unilateral CDM project. Prior to joining Equator, Eron was US Country Director at EcoSecurities, where he spearheaded the firm’s entry into the North American carbon market and managed all aspects of the firm's United States operations including origination, strategic planning, project development, and policy. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Environmental Markets Association (EMA) and previously served as a Liaison Delegate to the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Eron holds an MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and completed the PLD at Harvard Business School.

Mitchell Kosches, Chief Operating Officer –
Mitch has spent his career in accounting, finance, and investment banking. Mitch is responsible for the successful execution of Equator's day-to-day operations and directs the company's development to ensure future growth. Prior to joining Equator, Mitch was the CFO of Madison Trading, LLC, and its affiliated group of diversified financial services companies. Mitch also worked as an investment banker, first at Gruntal & Co., and later at Brean Murray and Co., Inc. Mitch and his team completed more than 20 transactions totaling over $1 billion, including raising capital for early and late stage companies, and large initial and secondary public offerings. Mitch also served as an accounting manager in Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette's Merchant Banking Group. Mitch is a licensed CPA, and earned his B.S. from the State University of New York at Albany and his M.B.A. from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business.

Carlos Guerreiro, Director of Forestry –
A forester with 25 years of experience in silvicultural planning, harvesting and forest management, Carlos is Equator's Director of Forestry and President of The Timber Group Investimentos Florestais Ltda, with responsibility for identifying investment opportunities and managing investment properties in Latin America. Carlos spent 13 years as a forest manager for Champion International and Ripasa Celulose e Papel, and also served as Chief Forester for Precious Woods and Gethal Amazonas, companies that pioneered sustainable management of Amazonian rainforests. In 1997, he led the first successful effort to secure Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification of a sustainably managed tropical rainforest on behalf of Precious Woods’ Brazilian operations. Carlos served as president of the Association of FSC Forestry Producers of the Amazon (PFCA) and as a member of the FSC Board of Brazil. Carlos received his BS in Forestry from ESALQ at the University of São Paulo.

Wolfgang Ortloff, Director –
A forester with more than 10 years of experience in the development of climate change risk solutions in the agricultural and land use sectors, Wolfgang serves as Director of Environmental Asset Management. Wolfgang is responsible for originating, developing, and structuring environmental asset products on behalf of Equator and its clients. Prior to joining Equator, Wolfgang served as Vice President of Swiss Re’s Environmental & Commodity Markets team, which offers risk management, insurance, and traded and structured solutions in the energy, weather, and greenhouse gas markets. Wolfgang received his diploma in forestry sciences from the University of Freiburg in Germany, and a Master of Environmental Management degree from the European Association for Environmental Management Education.

Luis Sonnervig, Director of Timberland Acquisitions –
An investment banker specializing in natural resource businesses, negotiations, and new project development, Luis serves as Equator’s Director of Acquisitions, where he is responsible for all aspects of transaction management and execution, and new business development. Prior to joining TTG, Luis soent more than 15 years in Brazilian financial markets, serving as a Founding Partner and CEO of Banco Axial S.A, Managing Director and Partner of Banco SRL, and Director of Banco BBA Creditanstalt, Banco Votorantim and Banco Garantia. In 2001, Luis joined A2R, a Private Equity Management Company formed in association with the principals of GMO - Renewable Resources, to manage investments in sustainable businesses. In 2003, GMO Renewable Resources hired Luis to serve as Director of Floream, the holding company for Gethal Amazonas, to manage the company’s forestry operations in the Amazon. Luis received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Mackenzie University in São Paulo, Brazil, and his MBA from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation in São Paulo, Brazil.

Dick Kempka, Vice President –
Dick has over 20 years experience in land conservation, technology development, and sales. Before joining Equator, Dick was Director of Energy and Technology Partnerships at Ducks Unlimited (DU), the world’s largest wetlands conservation organization. While at DU, Dick was responsible for the positioning and marketing of DU’s carbon offset program and coordinated all carbon sequestration and environmental asset activities throughout the organization, including a successful effort to deliver a first-of-its-kind forest carbon conservation easement to a consortium of 25 large utility companies. Before joining DU, Dick served as Remote Sensing Analyst with Pacific Meridian Resources, a natural resources consulting firm in California, and as a Remote Sensing Analyst for the Idaho Department of Water Resources and the Defense Mapping Agency. The author of more than 20 professional publications, Dick received his B.S. in Geography and Remote Sensing from Carroll College and his M.S. in Geography and Remote Sensing from Indiana State University.

Jessica Orrego, Vice President of Implementation and Project Management –
Jessica comes to Equator with 8 years of carbon-related work experience in the areas of emission reduction project development and climate change consulting services. At Equator, Jessica serves as Vice President of Implementation & Project Management. She is responsible for ensuring that projects meet the rigorous technical requirements of climate registries and standards. Prior to joining Equator, Jessica was Head of US Project Implementation at EcoSecurities in New York, where she managed a team that successfully registered over 45 projects under the Clean Development Mechanism, the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS) and the California Climate Action Registry (CCAR). Jessica also worked as a Senior Consultant for Energy for Sustainable Development (ESD) in the UK, focusing on carbon projects in the forestry and renewable energy sectors, and also helped to develop the Plan Vivo standard (www.planvivo.org). She also worked at the US Climate Change Science Program, where she coordinated carbon cycle research across 9 government agencies. Jessica holds a B.S. in Biology and a M.S. in Forestry from the University of Vermont.

Thomas Hodgman, Associate, The Timber Group –
Thomas Hodgman, Associate, The Timber Group Tom is a forester with both forest management and environmental finance experience. Tom is responsible for market research, financial analysis, investment due diligence and client relations for Equator’s timberland businesses. Tom was one of the first recipients of the Grantham Award in Business and the Environment at Yale University, awarded to individuals who work to find innovative solutions to help protect and improve the health of the global environment. Prior to joining Equator, Tom worked as a forester for Yale University, where he wrote forest management plans and managed timber sales in accordance with internationally recognized sustainability standards. Tom also worked as an Environmental Scientist for Arcadis NV in Chicago, USA where he consulted on Superfund site investigation and remediation projects for Fortune 500 companies. Tom received his B.A. in Environmental Science from Wesleyan University, and his Master of Forestry and M.B.A. from Yale University.

Eugene Stumpf, Associate, Environmental Markets –
Eugene Stumpf is a trained attorney specializing in carbon offset transactions. Mr. Stumpf supports Equator’s due diligence and transactional management. Prior to joining Equator, Mr. Stumpf served as an Associate with Natsource Asset Management, where he played a variety of roles, including oversight of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, providing support for the company’s trading operations, and assisting with the legal aspects of numerous carbon offset transactions involving more than 20 million tCO2e. Prior to Natsource, Mr. Stumpf worked for Marc Sussman’s Green America, a radio show focused on socially responsible investing. A member of the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, Mr. Stumpf received his B.A. in Environmental Studies from Emory University, and his J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law.

Aynsley Toole, Associate, Environmental Markets –
Aynsley Toole is responsible for investment execution, due diligence, structuring, and post-transaction monitoring of Equator's environmental asset transactions. Ms. Toole brings a background in environmental markets and experience in investment banking and finance. Before joining Equator, Aynsley worked as a strategy consultant at The Monitor Group, for the United Nations Development Program in Nepal and Senegal, in the Energy group at Deutsche Bank, and at the Inter-American Development Bank. Ms. Toole was part of the winning team at the 2008 Global Social Venture Competition for her work with MicroEnergy Credits Corporation, a company that assists developing-world microfinance institutions in generating carbon offsets through clean energy financing programs. Ms. Toole received a B.A. from Queen’s University (Canada), an Honors of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, and an M.B.A. and a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University.

Jeffrey Goldis, Senior Analyst, Environmental Markets –
Jeff has a background in environmental markets and experience in forest carbon and environmental policy and research. While working as an analyst for Equator, Jeff earned his M.A. in Conservation Biology from Columbia University, studying climate change policy and research. Prior to joining Equator, he worked for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), where he helped develop a database of global forest carbon projects. Jeff also leverages his experience with the New York Department of Environmental Protection’s water quality division and as a high school teacher of school environmental sciences and meteorology. He received his B.S in Biology and Environmental Studies from Emory University and Masters of Education degree from Georgia State University.

Howard Gould, Advisor –
Howard is one of the founders of Equator LLC and serves on Equator's Board of Directors. An entrepreneur specializing in the marketing of new product lines, Howard advises Equator on marketing, public relations, and corporate development issues. Howard has served as a sales executive at Bloomberg Financial, and founded Flying Fish Unlimited, a conservation-minded media and marketing company. Howard also served as Director of Business Development for Microcast, LLC, a broadband fiber optic company, as Senior Manager at NetCatalyst, a boutique investment banking firm, and founded Walkabout Productions, a wildlife filmmaking company. A committed conservationist, Howard serves on the Chairman’s Council of Conservation International.
